Immediately after the launching of his label Poker Flat Recordings in 1998, Berlin based minimal house pioneer Steve Bug could score a massive clubhit (PFR 001, „Loverboy“). Also the following 12-inches by artists from the likes of Märtini Brös, Hakan Lidbo and Jackmate, as well as the „Loverboy“-Remixes from Josh Wink, Prinitive Dub and Matthias Schaffhäuser drew the public attention and let the new label soon become to one of the most credible imprints out of Germany. After the release of „Volksworld“ (1997) the album in question here titled „The Other Day“ is the 2nd longplayer of Steve Bug and the first album on Poker Flat: 12 tracks pointing out the constant development of Steve Bug having established himself in the very 1st league of german producers: Subtle and effective sampler-work with funky ingredients, as well as close and ripend arrangements present Steve Bug as a master of musical seduction, who´s able to convince each minimal house floor on the planet. While „Loverboy“ came to existance in Hamburg just before Steve moved to Berlin, all other tracks for „The Other Day“ were produced in his studio in Berlin. Next to the work for „The Other Day“ and countless DJ-appearances all over the world Steve Bug also realised his vision of the label Dessous Recordings in this year based on the cooperation with artists as e.g. Vincenzo standing for deep house orientated tracks. The multicoloured composition of the album gives evidence for the wideness of Steve´s musical spectrum and mirrors his instinct for adult and matured dance music of our time. Intelligent sound to be enjoyed everywhere, no matter if it´s In the club, in the car or in the living-room.
